Coral Nurseries

In our coral nurseries we maintain different species of coral including the endangered species Dendrogyra cylindrus. Here, they are monitored and maintain until the outplanting.
Implementation of Coral Restoration for Coastal Protection

Coral restoration is our main job, and the implementation of these practices for coastal protection can enhance the security of coastal populations, and lead to the restoration of reef functions. Learn about our Wave Attenuation Project.
Coral Diseases

Stony Coral Tissue Loss (SCTLD) has decimated populations of foundational coral species across the Caribbean. To manage this disease, we developed a in-situ response treating highly valuable coral colonies in the field periodically.
Monitoring

We use a variety of monitoring methods and approaches to evaluate quantitative outcomes in our restoration projects that require systematic measurements rather than relative observations or opinions.
Groundings

Our experience has been developed at remote and near-shore locations in the U.S. Caribbean from Mona Island in the West to the U.S. Virgin Islands in the East. We have supported dozens of grounding responses of small recreational vessels to large 100+ foot cargo vessels.
Rubble Stabilization

Over the last five decades mass mortality of corals and the physical impacts caused by storms and human activities (groundings, for example) have led to the production of massive amounts of coral rubble. These, can be fixed to the bottom to create hard structure with natural resources, to then be restore by planting coral fragments.
